2010 Scholarship recipient: Lorie Neto Yarde
 
  List of Winners

The 2010 winner is 26 year old LORIE NETO YARDE of Pegwell, Christ Church. She received her primary and secondary education at Christ Church Girls School and Christ Church Foundation School respectively between 1988 and 2000. She subsequently enrolled at the Barbados Community College after leaving Christ Church Foundation School and was awarded an Associate Degree in Arts (English and History) in 2002. The awardee continued her tertiary level education at the University of the West Indies from September 2002 and gained an Upper Second Class BSc degree in Sociology and Psychology at the end of the 2005/2006 academic year. She then entered the Law Faculty in September 2006 to pursue the LLB programme. She was awarded the Bachelor of Laws degree with Upper Second Class Honours after completing her examinations at the end of the 2009/2010 academic year. The recipient of the scholarship entered the Hugh Wooding Law School in September to pursue the Legal Education Certificate programme at that institution.

The presentation of the award was made to Lorie Yarde on Wednesday, 8 September 2010 at Dowell House, Bridgetown, by the 2004 Scholarship winner Shontelle Murrell, who is an Associate of the law firm George Walton Payne & Co. Ms. Juan Ifill, the mother of the Scholarship winner and the Secretary/Treasurer of the Trust, retired Permanent Secretary Darwin Goodridge, were present during the short award ceremony.
